Samburu Reserve is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. The reserve is also home to a population of close to 900 Elephants.

Day 1: NAIROBI – SAMBURU NATIONAL GAME PARK
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the Eka Hotel/House of Waine for check in and an overnight stay.
Situated 160 km south of the equator, Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and boasts one of the finest climates in the world. This modern, cosmopolitan city is the regional headquarters for many African and Indian Ocean businesses. With delegates attracted here from around the world, they come for the friendliness of the people, the modern hotel facilities and the vast array of fascinating options available throughout the city. Although the ‘City in the sun’ is relatively young by global standards, it has fascinating history capturing explorers, missionaries, wars, cultural diversity and politics etc, each leaving their mark on the city center in some way.

Day 2: NAIROBI – SAMBURU NATIONAL GAME PARK
After your breakfast, you will be met by our customer care representative who will give you a brief overview of your safari program before handing you over to your driver guide with whom you will drive north to Samburu National Reserve to arrive at around 1300 hours in time for check in and lunch at the Ashnil Samburu Camp/Elephant Bedroom Camp. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park famous as the place for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Gravy’s zebra gerenuk, beisa Oryx and a host of the big game including elephant and lion.
Samburu Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya’s vast Northern Frontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the Masai. Samburu Reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape; the Owasso Nyiro River runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu Game Reserve and is home to crocodile and hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Samburu safari may offer sighting of buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and other plains game. Species of game unique to Samburu game reserve include the beisa Oryx, the long necked Gerenuk, Gravy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and the blue shanked Somali ostrich.

Day 3: SAMBURU NATIONAL GAME PARK
You will today spend the whole day at the Samburu National Reserve with both the morning and evening game drives. In between, you can choose to go for Samburu cultural visit.
As well as our game drives that include Samburu National Reserve, Buffalo Springs National Reserve and West Gate Conservancy, the traditions and semi-nomadic heritage of the local Samburu people are an important part of the experience. Led by professional Samburu guides, our guests enjoy a new dimension of this rightfully popular region: the feeling of exclusivity, of having an incredibly large area to themselves, and a high level of comfort and tailor-made service.

Day 4: SAMBURU NATIONAL GAME PARK – MASAI MARA NATIONAL GAME RESERVE
After breakfast at 0730 hrs, prepare for transfer to airstrip from where you depart to Masai Mara Game Reserve at 0915 hrs. You arrive at 1045 hrs and be met by your Mara driver guide for a brief morning game drive en-route to the Ashnil Mara Camp/Mara Ngenche Safari Camp for check in and lunch. Thereafter, you will spend the afternoon at leisure before going for an evening game drive.
The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.

Day 5: MASAI MARA NATIONAL GAME RESERVE
You will have one full day of of wildlife-viewing opportunities in the Masai Mara Reserve (with lunch breaks at your camp), also known as the “Jewel of Africa,” a site with one of the largest and the most spectacular animal migrations in the world. The reserve is inhabited by many of Africa’s most popular wild animals, including lion, cheetah, elephant, leopard, black rhino and hippo. There are also over 500 resident species of birds in the park including ostrich, larks and sunbirds as well as the lovely Lilac-breasted Roller.
Optional and at an extra cost is the hot air balloon safari. Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Day 6: DEPART
After breakfast, you will at 0900 hrs depart for Nairobi with an early game drive enroute to arrive in time for a farewell lunch at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant.
The Carnivore is the ultimate ‘Beast of a Feast’ A variety of meat including ostrich, crocodile and camel, t is roasted over charcoal and carved at your table. Delicious side dishes and an exceptional array of sauces complement this fixed price feast that also includes soup, a selection of desserts and Kenyan coffee. Set in attractive tropical gardens, the service and the décor are outstanding. The Carnivore since its inception has played host to over 2 million customers from across the globe including numerous celebrities. In fact the Carnivore visitors book read like a global who is who! Whole joints of meat – legs of lamb and pork, ostrich, rumps of beef, sirloins, racks of lamb, spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even crocodile, and other tasty morsels – are roasted on traditional Masai swords over a huge, spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.
Later in the evening, you will be transferred back to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your departure flight for an onward travel.
